Our Simple 3-Step Senior
Home Safety Assessment Process
Can your loved one live safely, comfortably, and happily without care?
If you are considering home care for an elderly member of your family, it can be challenging to assess their needs on your own. As a critical step in delivering the very best in-home service, Pearl’s Monterey Senior Care follows a thorough 3-step senior home safety assessment process that helps our team get to know more about your loved one’s needs, their home, and the level of care needed.
Step 1 - Getting to
Know Your Loved One
Our first step in the senior home safety assessment process will be done via phone or over video conference. Our goal is to cover critical areas that help us determine if there is a need for in-home care and if Pearl’s can effectively meet those needs.
The information we collect may include but not be limited to:
- More information about why you feel your loved one may need help at home
- Health background information, current medications, and chronic conditions
- Nutrition (dietary restrictions or requirements) as well as food preferences
- Eating schedule & sleeping schedule
- Challenges with physical activities, memory, or other aspects of mental health
- Other household needs such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, etc.
Step 2 - At Home Assessment
Now that we’ve established a need for in home senior care, we will coordinate a time to meet with our potential clients in-person to discuss their needs in detail and go over all the available services we offer. This step requires an in-person visit to perform a senior home safety assessment and our ability to render services for your loved one. We will note the home’s layout, amount of clutter, safety hazards, and if any modifications are required or recommended before starting in-home care services.
Per CDC guidelines, Pearl’s Assessment Team will also follow all social distancing guidelines and use PPE equipment such as masks and gloves.
