COVID-19
In Home Senior Care Safety Matters Now More than Ever
In every industry and every family, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) presents a significant series of challenges. Given that in home elderly care assists seniors, a vulnerable sector of the population more prone to illness and chronic health conditions, providing service inherently comes with a higher degree of risk.
Pearl’s Monterey In Home Senior Care is happy to report no reported or confirmed cases of COVID-19 among our caregiving team or our clients currently. When safety precautions are followed, we believe our caregiving services can minimize the risk of transmission or exposure. In-home care can also help prevent other unnecessary hospitalizations.
As Monterey County remains in the Purple Tier, and per CDC guidelines, we have implemented the following protocols with every staff member to protect your loved one in our care:
- PPE (Personal Protective Gear) such as masks and gloves (at minimum) will be worn at all times during a caretaker’s visit to our client’s home.
- When possible, utilize the same caretaker for a client to avoid cross-contamination and to minimize contact with people outside the home.
- CDC guidelines and protocols will be followed if a client or staff member contracts COVID-19.
- Pearl’s staff will communicate our COVID-19 protocols to our clients as well as their immediate family before the start of service as well as when any protocols change.
- If Pearl’s staff member or client becomes symptomatic, we will follow reporting protocols to ensure all parties are informed.
- Provide on-going education and support to our staff regarding COVID-19, including new or updated protocols and prevention methods.
Pearl’s Monterey Senior Care is working in collaboration with federal, state, and local organizations and home health agencies to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 and create industry-wide solutions to safe, in-home caregiving.
